Luke has worked with Hand in Hand since the summer of 2020. Initially, he worked part time in the Louisville Program until transitioning to the Executive Director role in March 2025. In his 20+ years of community development work, Luke has lived all over the world, traveled extensively, always hoping to learn from others and build trust with others doing similar work. He loves the mission of Hand in Hand and enjoys traveling to each of the program locations to visit the staff and engage more in the work. He strongly believes there are always new things to learn and there are ways to grow relationships if you take the time to listen and learn.
Luke and his wife, Kacie, have four children and a son-in-law. Since 2015 they have lived in the Portland neighborhood, just two blocks from the Hand in Hand Louisville office. They have raised their kids, invested in the neighborhood, built relationships, served on boards, and been involved in the work of building community. Together they run, travel, explore the food scene, build fires in their backyard, grow things in their garden, drink coffee, beer, bourbon & gin, and give thanks for all the adventures they have been afforded in this life.
