Belize

• If you are interested in joining a trip or scheduling a trip for your group, please contact our office at [email protected].
• After your trip is scheduled, we will keep in touch with you regarding pre-trip planning, payment, required forms, airline tickets, packing lists, etc.
• We can accommodate groups of up to 14 travelers. Trips begin on Sundays, and end on Saturdays. Though some participants choose to extend their trip, costs and travel arrangements are the responsibility of the participant for all extensions.
• We will help arrange your airline travel. Your journey can begin from most US airports. The flight is less than three hours from Miami, Atlanta, or Houston.
• We will handle all your travel needs during your stay with us. We will pick you up at the airport, drive you to the worksite and other activities in our fourteen-passenger van. We also cover the water taxi for travel to and from Caye Caulker Island.
• Participants stay at a guest house owned by Hand in Hand. We have six air-conditioned bedrooms (one holds 4 bunk beds), and four bathrooms with hot and cold water.
• We do have WiFi available at the guest house. We encourage people to “unplug” as much as possible during your stay with us. We find it enhances the experience. The house is just three blocks from the sea.
• Volunteers enjoy delicious home-cooked meals that are prepared and served daily by our staff. We cannot accommodate specific dietary restrictions.
• We provide all building materials and most tools. No skills are necessary to participate. We can always find meaningful work for any skill level.
• Purified water is available on the worksite and in our guest house.
• A charitable donation for your 6-night stay is $2,500. This covers the cost of building materials for a 16′ x 20′ house that includes plumbing for a bathroom, travel, accommodation, meals, and other costs related to your stay in Belize City. Snorkeling, alcohol, hotel, and meals on Caye Caulker Island are not included.*

* We offer several different pricing structures for those who travel as part of a pre- established group (outside of the Louisville area). This pricing does not include airline tickets.

**Starting January 1, 2026, the charitable donation for your 6-night stay will increase to $2,600. This covers the cost of building materials for a 16′ x 20′ house, with a bathroom and aluminum louvers that offer longevity and durability in the climate. The price will increase on all pricing structures for Belize trips.
